I have recently been to Nottingham castle for an art project focusing on the human form and face, and must say i was spoilt for choice. Also, for any nottingham residents, if you take your city library card you can get in for free! My only annoyance is that they have no photo's of the paintings on any website, so.. i have to finnish off my sketches from memory.

I have 2 works by Marcus Stone, one is called summer the other is fall, fall is signed in the bottom right hand corner, they are both framed by Arthur Ackerman of Regent street, London. I am trying to find the value of these. i do not know if they are prints or paintings, any information would be greatly appreciated.

This is in response to Josh Wilkersons comment about The Peace Maker.

Josh....I also own a print that I too believe is an original Stone illustration. I know very little about the print other than it was in an old victorian home in Owensboro, KY and was bought at an auction when the house was tore down. I eventually retained the piece and now it hangs in my home. If you know anything about the print please share with me and I too will try to share info I find out with you. I would have already e-mailed you but I didn't see your email addresses listed.

If anyone else would like to contact me about this print you also may do so. The e-mail address is lilredkim1@aol.com (just put the title Marcus Stone in the subject line so I know to open and do not delete as a virus).

Thank You.

Hello.. I don’t know if you can answer my question or not.. but a friend of mine has a painting by Marcus Stone, dated 1902. We are trying to see what it may be worth.. This is an original painting showing a lady up next to a tree dressed in her wedding dress looking sad with a bouquet of flowers hanging at her side. The tree has two overlapping hearts engraved into it. It looks as if she got stood up at the alter..

Any info you could provide would be appreciated..

Thanks.. Jeff Mckeil..

Hello,

I'm seventeen years old. I have recently purchased a peice which I believe to be an orginal Marcus Stone engraving. The piece is entitled "The Peace Maker," I was wondering if you could provide me with information to find out if he ever even engraved such a peice. If you don't have the information could you please tell me if you know anyone who could? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

josh Wilkerson
