Background information
The Lillie Art Gallery was founded by banker and keen amateur artist, Robert Lillie. The gallery opened in 1962 and has established one of Scotlands best collections of 20th century Scottish art, including distinguished local artists William and Mary Armour, a collection of Joan Eardley drawings and contemporary artists including Philip Reves.

A party of four of us visited this afternoon (9th Feb.) at 3.30p.m.and were disappointed to find that the gallery was closed despite this website and the notice on the door stating otherwise.
