I was born and raised in Stockport - then did what any educated and intelligent person is bound to do; decamp to the more pastoral fields of the South!

One of the more enduring (and pleasant) memories of Stockport is the War Memorial and Art Gallery, particularly the Epstein bust of Yehudi Menuhin. This is a sculptor that takes the breath away in its assured execution and emotional resonance.

This is a gem of Art that deserves more publicity than it has received to date - come on Stockport; this is something you should be really proud of, let the world know of such a prized possession.
