The letter from Robert Burns to Robert Ainslie 23/8/1788 is alleged to have been on display at your museum until 2004. It is now up for auction on Ebay.... being sold by TWO different people! Could you suggest the best way to verify the unequivocal provenance? Assuming that they are not BOTH forgery's. This matter is a discussion point on Burns World Club and Ebay. Regards, Jim O'Neil
I have a 19th century Scottish violin. inscribed within by John Gloag 1908...made of wood from home where Burns was married and from tree he planted at Mossgiel..haunting tone..I feel it links me to the Bard. not playing much now..would like it to be purchased by a musician and lover of Burns..any advice or leads would be welcomed
